Excerpts from My Autobiography

Well, I don't actually have an autobiography, though some time after culling this stuff together I was encouraged by my professor Russ Beck to expand one of my essays into a full-length memoir, so some of this stuff should make its way into there in one form or another. I'm sure my life isn't much more interesting than the next guy's. I don't even keep a journal. I should, but I haven't been able to keep at it. I remember one time back in teachers' quorum when I said, "I don't want to keep a journal because I don't want my descendants to know what a loser I am." And the adviser said, "If you have descendants, you're not a loser!"
I have written some stuff down via my blog and other sources, though, so here some of it is in case you ever get desperately bored enough to read it.
