Adventures in the FDR
By C. Randall Nicholson
This was an ongoing series of short stories that I started in early 2011 and worked on sporadically before losing interest. I figured stories about the colonists of a new land trying to govern themselves, which I thought would be more fun than just ranting about all my political pet peeves. Abortion wasn't made into a story, because there's nothing remotely funny about it. Heck, I realize that maybe none of these are funny or humorous at all, but one person liked them. How well do they represent my current views? Good question.
The series will be updated approximately whenever I feel like it, which at the moment is never.
Table of Contents
Cast of Characters Meet the FDRians. Word has it they're a bunch of lunatics, but that's racist.
Prologue Professor Ronald Reynolds announces his ambitious project to make a bunch of people start a civilization from scratch on an uninhabited island.
One Nation Under G** The citizens of the new nation must draw up a Constitution to live by, but there is some concern that religion will have an undue influence on the proceedings.
Welfare is, Well, Fair Almost no one has a job, so the government must implement a drastic measure to keep the newborn economy from collapsing.
School's Out Forever The rising generation needs to be educated so they can become productive citizens, and the government has not only a perfect system, but the perfect woman for the job.
To Form a More Perfect Union (coming eventually, by which I mean probably never)
It's No Fun Being an Undocumented Worker (in progress)
It is Easy Being Green (coming eventually)
An Apple a Day, but You Still Have to Pay (coming eventually)
Oh, Shoot! A tragic massacre of innocent civilians by a madman convinces the citizenry and the government that guns are not to be trusted by any means.
Epilogue Professor Ronald Reynolds evaluates the success of his project.
